About the area

How far is it from the airport?
Tenerife South Airport (TFS) is 7 kilometres away, about 20 minutes by road. That makes it one of the shortest transfers of any resort area in the south.
Do I need a car?
Not necessarily. Shops, cafés, restaurants, a pharmacy and the promenade are all within walking distance. A car is useful for exploring the island: Teide, Santa Cruz, the north.
Where is the nearest beach?
The nearest sandy beach is about 500 metres away, and San Blas is 1.5 kilometres. Playa La Tejita and El Médano are around 15 minutes by car, and the beaches of Las Américas 20 minutes.
Is the area noisy?
Golf del Sur is built around two golf courses and is a calm residential area. Evenings are quiet and there is very little nightlife. For clubs and bars, Las Américas is twenty minutes' drive away.
What is the weather like in winter?
Days are usually 20–24 °C and sunny, with cooler nights. The south is the driest and sunniest part of the island, which is why so many people come here to spend the winter.
